Type 5 5706 at Northeastern University on Huntington Ave. The car is now owned by the Boston St Ry Association which was formed by 12 railfans who hoped to retain the car for fantrips. The MTA was not responsive to such an idea so the car has spent its time since 1959 purchase at various places. As of 2014 it is undergoing extensive restoration and reconstruction in Guildford MA, with the intent to have a "new" Type 5 streetcar.
