Car 161 coming down the embankment from Hillgrove Ave in LaGrange on April 11 1948.
Thus begins its northern route along the west side of the Indiana Harbor Belt (IHB) right of way (tracks on the left side of picture).
This was on the final CERA fantrip, the day after the end of the streetcar service.
The Chicago Burlington and Quincy (CB&Q) Railroad, which crosses over the IHB just behind car 161, is in the background.
