This is a TM company photo from about 1927. A newly rebuilt train of 1100's is heading east on the Milwaukee-Watertown line passing the Waukesha gravel pit substation. The substation stood until November 1963, 12 years after abandonment. The 38 acre gravel pit was purchased by Speedrail President Jay Maeder from Speedrail on a land contract in September 1951.
