D16 is a self-propelled electric crane that was inherited by Milwaukee and Suburban Transport. It was used at Cold Spring Shops until the mid 1960s before being donated to TWERHS. Electric rail equipment at Cold Spring was possible after streetcar abandonment until 1965 using the 600 VDC from the trackless trolley system.TWERHS later sold #D16 to the Illinois Railway Museum. D16 was listed as a 4 motor Utility Derrick, manufactured by Brown Hoist Company in 1923 on an inventory list dated December 31 1946. TWERHS later sold D16 to the Illinois Railway Museum.
