An 8-window 700 series car which no doubt was put into storage when the PCCs arrived in 1936, probably being scrapped, or at least being stripped of parts.

Brooklyn and Queens Transit did not waste a lot of parts -- a few of these 700s were stored in the 2d floor of the 58th St Depot (3rd Ave Bklyn) until 1942, when they were hauled out and put on the West End (surface) and the 86th St. line during the war. They were the oldest cars running on the system, and were in amazingly good condition until 1946, when they were finally scrapped.
