6093 northbound on Flatbush Avenue approaching Farragut Road where Rogers Ave ends and cars from Bergen St and Rogers turn on to Farragut for the short run to Ocean Ave where the cars ran south to Sheepshead Bay at Emmons Ave
At the time of this photo, circa 1949, cars turned back along side Lundy Bros. restaurant on Ocean Avenue, some to run to the west side of Flatbush Ave on Farragut and there to switch back for the run south, others to continue on across Flatbush to make a 45 degree turn onto Rogers for a run to Bergen Street.
Rogers cars could use the same switchback to return to Bergen Street at Flatbush. These cars were usually special 8000 cars geared for high speed running on Ocean Ave's long, lightly trafficked blocks. Ocean /Rogers cars could also switch onto Flatbush at this point for run to carbarn at Utica and Avenue N if necessary.
To the right of the car 6093 is the Royal Scarlet Market, out of sight on this photo. Up ahead on Flatbush on the left of the photo is the Century Circuit Farragut Theater, opened in 1919, converted to bowling alley in 1961, then to a YMCA around 1963. It is situated on the triangle formed by Rogers and Flatbush. This scene is three blocks north of "The Junction" of Flatbush and Nostrand trolley lines and of the IRT 7th Avenue Line Flatbush Avenue Subway Terminal.
