This single ended Peter Witt is a the southern terminal of the 44 Nostrand Avenue line at Avenue U. Avenue U is to the right, the houses in the back face Haring Street, and when the car leaves the loop it will turn right onto Nostrand Avenue and head for Williamsburg Bridge Plaza. By the time this photo was taken between, I'd say, 1949 and 1951, trolley service across the bridge to Delancey Street had been eliminated.
