LRV 2023, at the time a brand new SD100 cars at the Bayside Line Terminal at Imperial & 12th St. station.
In the background is the freight yard of the San Diego Imperial Valley RR.(ex-Southern Pacific) -- freight trains run at night after the trolleys end service for the night. Freights used to run along with the trolleys after 8pm. Sometimes a problem as the double tracking decreased clearances under the I-5 overpass on one track. Freight trains were crossed over to the other track at this point to get by the offending pillar using 2 crossovers. They also left the regular line just south of Imperial and 12th yard, crossing over to the freight yard track. All trolleys are radio equiped and controlled by a dispatcher at the carhouse.
