In the early 1960's, the SIR had a few boomer cars that operated for a while on the railroad for fan trips. Here's ex-Waterloo Cedar Falls and Northern 100 in 1964, the only interurban that survived the roundhouse fire in Waterloo. The car later went to the Iowa Terminal Railroad in Mason City, where it did not escape another fire.
