53 at the Jerseyville station on the first day of service on December 16 1912 after the last 16.19 miles of trackage was completed and placed into service.

The company had previously constructed about 1800 feet of track on State Street in Jerseyville which was never finished because of previous financial problems which had resulted in receivership. Jerseyville demanded that the company complete the trackage to the north limits and pave the street, and Jerseyville did not renew the franchise when it expired. When tracklaying reached Jerseyville, the company was denied entry onto the State Street trackage. Thus, the station in the scene was built at the Jersey Landing Road at the south limits of Jerseyville, a half mile from the business district.
