The Illinois Traction System owned and operated the Champaign-Urbana streetcar system.
After the Illinois Power Company merged with the Illinois Traction System, the Illinois Terminal Railroad was formed to operate the interurban service and the Illinois Power Company took over the streetcar system in Champaign-Urbana (however the Illinois Terminal continued to use the streetcar trackage and facilities for years thereafter).
