Chicago Transit Authority #53 was one of four three-car articulated trainsets built in 1947 by St. Louis and Pullman-Standard for Chicago Rapid Transit. Originally in the 5000-series (#53 was #5003), these cars served for most of their lives on the Skokie Swift line.
53 ended up at the Monticello Railroad Museum (as shown here) and was a stationary display. By the early 2010s, it was in disrepair and it was agreed that the Illinois Railway Museum would salvage parts from the car, and it was subsequently scrapped.
