This is one of the few photos of the Louisville 1946 PCCs in Louisville, on the test loop around the 29th and Broadway carbarn in Louisville.
The PCCs were ordered in 1944, but not delivered until 1946, at which point the posture in Louisville toward rail operations had changed.
The cars were intended for the 4th St line, and the overhead had been reconstructed, nevertheless, the sentiment changed, and the cars were not put into service after the first arrived in Aug 1946.
The PCCs were shipped to Cleveland (common corporate owner) starting Nov 1946 for 20 GMC model TDH-4507 diesel buses (Cleveland numbers 3405-3429) and cash. Subsequently, the PCCs went to Toronto.
