East Bay Electric Railroads
Key System / Interurban Electric / Southern Pacific
Updated NONE

There were two main electric railroads on the east side of San Francisco Bay. The Interurban Electric / SP and the Key System. Both operated interurban trains which connected to San Francisco, first by ferries, and later using a portion of the lower deck of the Oakland Bay Bridge into East Bay Terminal.

The streetcars in the East Bay were operated by the Key System as either their own, or as East Bay Transit.

Eventually the auto took over and the system was dismantled, only to be resurrected years later by the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) system.
